About The Book

Imam al-Haddad’s Beneficial Counsels is a collection of nine sets of counsels in the form of letters which the Imam sent to some of his close students. Each set of counsels contains provisions for the wayfarer on his or her journey to Allah. The Imam deals with topics such as taqwa, the etiquettes of prayer and performing hajj, whose company one should keep and how to illuminate one’s heart. In addition to the counsels, this book contains a small selection of the Imam’s prayers and poems.
