About The Author
Ibn Daqiq al-`Id (d.1302) was a Shaft' mujtahid imam, who was educated in Damascus, Alexandria, and Egypt. Accounted as one of the greatest scholars in Islam in the fundamentals of law and belief, he wrote extensively in the areas of law, principles of jurisprudence, hadith, and tenets of faith. Imam Nawawi (d.1277) was accounted as an Imam of the later Shafil school and was known for his piety and knowledge.Â
Imam Nawawi (1233-77), the author of the hadith selection, was an authority in the Shafiâi legal school, hadith master, biographer, lexicologist, and Sufi.

Mokrane Guezzou is the author of Shaykh al-Hashimi: His Life and Works, and the well-known translator of over ten works including Qurâan commentary Wahidiâs Asbab al-Nuzul and al-Buzaydiâs The Adab of the True Seeker. He lives in Jordan.
